Great themed hotel

This hotel has potential; the medieval Gothic look is beautiful, but it has one huge flaw: it's old and dark. If only they would remodel the place while maintaining the same style, it would be amazing. I'm giving it 3 stars because the staff is very friendly and attentive.

This review is really focused on the property itself, and not the staff and custodians who were all very friendly, kind, and accommodating to us from check-in to early check-out. I have no complaints on that front. Summary: I think that this property really needs and deserves a complete renovation. From top to bottom. I understand if money is a concern, but if Cocotel is handling the property, then it's worth taking a look at because it's just way too old to keep up with the hospitality standards of today. Yes, it is just a 2-star, but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve some sort of modernization or help on its interiors and upkeep. The carpets are all discolored, there's no elevators so if you're disabled or elderly, don't even bother coming here, the interiors are cleaned only mildly and it truly feels like a ghost town building. The rooms itself are actually decent in size, but the state of everything inside our room was poor even for a 2-star hotel. The towels were old, scratchy, and fraying at the seams. The bedsheets, pillow cases, and blankets are also rough and are uncomfortable. The bathroom is totally neglected because even though it is sort of clean, it's also a hassle to use. The water pressure is incredibly poor that you need to press the flush for 15 seconds before something happens, there are 0 hand towels or paper towels or toilet paper, no basics, and the shower itself is struggling. The temperature is either hot as hell or non-existent. The sofa in the lounge area of our room had questionable stains, are completely yellow, and are lumpy as heck. They feel and look older than me, and not in a good way at all. It's a shame that Camelot has been neglected to the point where it just kind of sits there in total sad disrepair, and it's an even greater shame when it's located in a prime location in front of a local TV station with lots of bars and eateries around so it's easy to look for things to eat and drink. Speaking of, the "mini-bar" in our room, which was already a suite btw, was broken down and might have been from the 90's at the state of it. Everything here is just, way too old that it's no longer vintage; it's just broken down and needing a whole lot of love. I hope Cocotel breathes new life to Camelot Hotel.
