The hotel is okay, but $30 for parking and $10 resort fee???? For Wi-Fi and such?? What's that all about in the 21st century!!!??

We had the worst experience in this hotel ruined our entire stay in carmel. :( Paid ~$300-night to get a view room with no elevator access, right above the walkway of the pool (noisy till 11pm) and absolutely terrible hygiene + cleanliness. We found roaches crawling around and cut toenails on the floor!! the front desk did not even give us another room! That is not the worst part. The front desk said either take extra bedsheets and change them yourself or get a new hotel. I was taken aback by their lack of service and just kindness. Its almost midnight and they literally said take it or leave it. First time ever witnessing a lazy service - i understand late night shifts aren’t easy. Mind you I never yelled or blamed her 🥲 Never ever stepping in this hotel nor recommending it to anyone. Stay away from here. We ended up getting a room at Courtyard by Marriott sand city in monterey. 10X cleaner, 10x friendlier and its new construction so all rooms+ amenities are sparkling new 🤗.

I absolutely LOVED my stay at the Carmel Mission Inn! I grew up in the Monterey area, and my family still lives there. I booked the family suite for my niece's third birthday - it was raining LOTS during the week I was visiting - and a comfy, nice hotel room where everyone could be together and celebrate was exactly what we needed (and what she wanted!) in order for her to have a great birthday. I'd like to extend a special thanks to Mary - who ensured I was able to check into the room as soon as possible, and provided excellent customer service. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone who is visiting the area! Looking forward to being able to stay for longer my next time in town.
