I stayed one night at a hotel in Puno, on Lake Titicaca, to walk across the Bolivia-Peru border. The location is very close to the square, and you can walk to the market and Lake Titicaca landmarks. The staff were very friendly and even remembered my birthday, giving me a gift and singing a song. This is a very warm and inviting hotel. I highly recommend it if you visit Puno.

This is a small boutique hotel in a good location close to Puno'as nightlife and restaurants. However, it is probably only a 2 star hotel as there is no refrigerator in the rooms or no air conditioning and no kettle. It's ok if you get a room with a window to the outside lane, but otherwise the rooms are stuffy internal rooms. The hotel owns only 1 fan - so you have to 'bid' to get it for your room to ease some of the stuffiness in the room. These rooms are very bad for your health and really should be shut down. The breakfast offerings are very small and thet get exhausted very quickly - no bread was left at 6.30am after 30 minutes of breakfast being open. Staff response was - "we've run out". Probably best to give this hotel a miss when in Puno.

I stayed in Puno for one night on January 21st, and my group was truly touched by the experience. During breakfast, Shewas gifted the cutest llama doll and a slice of sweet cake by four staff members: Lari, Moises, Jimmy, and Milabros, who had celebrated her birthday, which she'd forgotten. Watching them, I was envious and wished I could come back again on my birthday. I'm writing this post to express my desire to return and the emotion I felt that day.
