Booked for a whole week for myself and my daughter and we booked the whole duplex penthouse with two bedrooms/bathrooms (seriously the bathrooms are the one small highlight…). Turns out the second bedroom is just a really bad sofa in the living area. Worse is the hotel is totally unstaffed after about 2pm. The elevator broke about midday. Lots of excuses about when it was going to be fixed. Turns out it's not. I eventually found a WhatsApp number in a cupboard near reception and luckily I am more or less bilingual. Some poor Japanese family trying to check in to a hotel with no receptionist and a scribbled note had no chance and I tried to help them out. Hotel manager eventually answered phone but totally disinterested in taking responsibility for getting a disabled guest and luggage down 5 long flights of stairs. Avoid at all costs. I am not going to repeat everything because it is a list of disasters, but I advise you not to come to this hotel. Right now we are trapped on the fifth floor without being able to go down due to my disability. The elevator was broken, and since the hotel doesn't have a receptionist or any staff, it's impossible to fix. I finally found someone's WhatsApp number—the Wi-Fi isn't working, so I sent my daughter outside onto the roof to get a signal and spoke to someone who didn't say anything else except, "Oh well, that'll pass." At this price, it shouldn't pass. What a disgrace. The only good thing is that it's just steps from Plaza de la Merced and much more. Oh, and there are no windows. Well, there are, but there's no way to hold the curtain up because the cords are broken. That's it. I can't take it anymore.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is in the historic district with pedestrian walking areas and all the Christmas lights were up. The rooms are very well designed and all the furnishings were of good quality.
