Casa do Adro Hotel

I spent New Year's Eve 2025/2026 with a group of 46 people from the Bank of Portugal's Retirees Commission, and it was a terrible experience! Dinner on the 31st was awful! It took hours to serve, my table didn't have the leek cream soup, supposedly it burned, but it must have run out! After waiting 45 minutes for a replacement caldo verde (kale soup), it arrived literally cold and without the usual slice of chorizo. The fish dish was also almost cold, and the supposed roasted veal was nothing more than a piece of grilled meat that was almost raw and tasteless. The dessert was crème brûlée and it was extremely sweet. Many of my colleagues and I practically didn't have dinner. Around 11 pm, we asked for sparkling water and there wasn't any. It was finished! We asked for still water and there wasn't any. It was finished! It's unacceptable for a 4-star hotel not to even have water for its guests. The following day, New Year's Day, there wasn't enough chicken soup for everyone. It ran out. People didn't even get a bowl of chicken soup. There was still no water, and Mr. Rui, the manager since August according to him, nor the owner himself, who was also in the room, had the humility to apologize to a large group like ours or to give any explanation. The employees were friendly, and it was noticeable that they themselves neither agreed with nor felt comfortable with the service provided. For a hotel with such good references, this was an experience to forget and never to be repeated, both for us and for the guests who were there.

I want to thank the hotel management and all the staff for welcoming me, my family, and friends to my first public presentation as a young writer. This marked the beginning of a great partnership that will lead to more joint events.
