Center Hotel Kaiserhof

The room was simply but adequately furnished. The only woman I saw during my stay was friendly. Breakfast wasn't amazing, but I was satisfied.

Since I was attending an event in Naumburg with several friends, I booked this hotel, which is very close to the train station. Because some participants fell ill at short notice, I canceled some of the rooms. This was possible until 6 p.m. on the day of arrival. So far, so good. But from here on, things went downhill rapidly. At check-in, where we couldn't yet be assigned rooms or given keys because of cleaning (it was 2:45 p.m.), I arranged with the receptionists to pick up the keys around 7 p.m., as the reception is only staffed until 8 p.m. I also asked that they please provide a plate, a large mug, a knife, and a kettle for everyone in the rooms. I planned to buy the ingredients at the Aldi around the corner in the morning. This request was refused, and in a very curt tone. When I asked why, they replied that they didn't want guests eating breakfast in their rooms. They offered the hotel's breakfast service. They didn't want the rooms to get dirty. Incidentally, I deliberately hadn't booked breakfast; the reasons for this can be found in the reviews. When I asked what the difference was between a hotel guest taking takeaway food to their room in the evening and eating it there, they didn't give a substantive answer, but simply replied curtly that they didn't want that. I initially accepted this and went to my event. Since this annoyed me so much, I found an alternative hotel, booked it, and even took advantage of the cancellation option for the remaining rooms on the day of arrival until 6 p.m. The two-star rating is for the generous cancellation policy. I want to remain fair.

We had a good laugh because this was by far the worst hotel we'd stayed in in a long time. The room smelled of sewage and was furnished with a 12cm thick mattress. But breakfast was the icing on the cake. They had pre-baked rolls, and the egg counter was empty 15 minutes after opening (with only 3 guests in the breakfast room). We didn't even want the scrambled eggs that were sitting in water.
