Central City Apartments

The only plus point of the apartments is that they're just two minutes from a very well-connected metro station. I've noticed more minuses, including the heating, which barely works. One small radiator doesn't heat the entire room, only the bathroom is warm, as it probably has underfloor heating. The second minus point is the room card, which kept resetting itself, and I had to call reception every day to have it re-coded. The third minus is the lack of a regular reception desk. The fourth minus is that the entrances to the rooms are from the courtyard. The fifth minus is a huge amount of extra fees for damages or leaving the room in a condition other than stated in the check-out instructions. A 1000 NOK security deposit is required. Okay for one night, but not for longer, especially in winter.

Charged more for the room so the card was charged with more money. Deposit of 1000kr was there, which is not normal and was not disclosed. It has been over 1 week and the 1000kr has not been refunded. Scam. Worst hotel I have stayed at in Oslo. Stay away.

The full cost of accommodation at Central City Apartments was paid in advance at the time of booking. Information regarding the requirement to pay a security deposit, as well as additional accommodation restrictions (including a prohibition on cooking after 10:00 PM), was not disclosed during the booking process. A security deposit of 1000 NOK (USD 103.56) was charged to my bank card upon check-in, after the accommodation had already been paid for. Therefore, essential accommodation conditions were not transparently disclosed in advance, which constitutes a breach of consumer transparency and good-faith business practices. There is no reception desk at the property. The check-in procedure and communication with the property representatives were poorly organized. Without assistance from third parties, it would have been impossible to understand where and how to obtain access to the accommodation. Communication was conducted exclusively by phone, and the staff were unable to provide clear or consistent instructions. I checked out of the property on 29 December 2025 in the morning. On the day of departure, I contacted the property and was informed that the security deposit would be refunded within 7 calendar days, provided no damage was identified. As of today, the security deposit has not been refunded. On 6 January 2026, I contacted Booking customer support regarding the refund. I was provided with the property’s email address and sent a written request on the same day. As of 23 January 2026: no response has been received; the security deposit of 1000 NOK (USD 103.56) has not been refunded; no explanation for the retention of funds has been provided.
