I wish we could leave a 5-star review, and if we stayed, we maybe could have. We planned this trip and paid in advance, as required, for our 8-day stay. We understood the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, I was transferred for work, from Maryland to Missouri (1000+ miles) with only 2 weeks notice, and was required to be in my new location, with all leave cancelled, BEFORE this vacation was to start. I called and explained, and was told NO REFUNDS. I even requested a credit to use later when I COULD use leave for vacation. Still denied. Horrible customer service and no regard for my situation. I would avoid this hotel in case you have any unavoidable emergencies because you'll lose your money!

Amazing beautiful little place. Steep stars and at the top of the hill-great for site seeing and getting away from the clutter and noise while still being close enough to get a 15-30 minute workout in up and down the hill depending on how far you wanted to walk. There are hotels better priced and better quality closer to boutiques but it’ll be hard to find the w/low prices unless you book out in advance since it’s such a high demand area. The room we got was a one bedroom queen. The room was a little cramped for two people to share it, but overall very nice. Included breakfast, water, etc. cups are in your room and not in the lobby if you’re American. Many people speak English though some local small shops do not. Most places do not take Discover Card as we found out. Lots of people gather in the lobby of the hotel day to day. We went on a weekday for the Ice Carnival, and the lobby was bustling with a mix of conversation. Very nice and relaxing. In the morning you can sit back and read a newspaper surrounded by smiling faces and delicious breakfast. Very pleased, except for the size of our queen room which I would consider Absoulutely tiny. Perfect for the solo traveler, but maybe consider spending a little extra if you hate crowding into a narrow entry hallway, which personally stresses me out while I’m trying to get my snow shoes off lol.

Great location right on the hill by governor's park, 2 minute walk down the hill to dufferin terrace, right by chateau frontenac. If you're lucky you may get a room facing towards the park otherwise you wi just be facing the parkinglot behind the hotel where they will valet your car for $25/night. Rooms are small, no minifridge or anything but the TV works well and can connect to your phone easily.In the heart of old quebec so you're near many attractions and restaurants. We went during winter carnaval, it was about a 12 minute walk from the hotel. There is also wine available by the glass in the lobby.
