Chateau Bonne Entente

Horrible experience. I went to this hotel hoping for a relaxing stay, but it was the complete opposite. A real disappointment for an establishment that claims to be 5 stars—one honestly wonders how it obtained that rating. Upon arrival, $1,000 was placed on my card, which is completely disproportionate: even a car rental doesn't hold that much. The receptionists were totally disorganized regarding gift certificates. I had clear inclusions, but they were refused repeatedly. I had to repeat my entitlement four times to different receptionists. How is it possible that no notes were entered into their system? The room, while nice, was uncomfortable: a soft bed, cobwebs, and a small, outdated television that whistled for 30 minutes after being turned on. In the hallway, trays of leftover food had been sitting for three days, emitting a foul odor and attracting fruit flies. I had to ask reception twice to have them removed. The only positive points were the very pleasant shower, the quality of the food in the restaurant, and the professionalism of the waitstaff. On Tuesday afternoon, after my hike, I wanted to take a nap, but the housekeeper was cleaning my room… at 3 p.m. I then went down to the restaurant, but it was closed: no service before 5:30 p.m. For a 5-star hotel, continuous service is normally the bare minimum. So I went to the gym: another disaster. The sauna was dirty, dusty, with chewed gum on the floor, no snacks in the fridges, and generally mediocre equipment. The spa was just as disappointing. At checkout, a new problem arose: the receptionist wanted to charge me $800 in fees and taxes, even though everything was included in my package. I had to show her the gift receipt on my phone. I specifically asked her not to take my phone and to call her supervisor instead, but she took it anyway, ignoring my request. And even then, she still couldn't sort out the bill. It's simply outrageous. I've never been treated this way in any hotel, 5-star or otherwise.

If you love old-school American country clubs from the 1990s, this is the place for you! From the outside, it's beautiful, but inside, you'll find old-fashioned rooms with wallpaper and worn carpets. The waitresses in the restaurant do their best but simply can't keep up, even on a Monday morning. Don't expect much from the spa; there's a hot tub, but you don't have access to the relaxation room unless you pay for a massage! We were told to leave! For $305 for one night on a Sunday... Very disappointing!! We definitely don't recommend it.
