Our three-night stay unfortunately proved to be a huge disappointment. We had high expectations based on what we'd read and the beauty of the place. The inn is indeed beautiful, a huge and pleasant space. The room was also clean, and we were initially welcomed politely. For this reason, I ended up booking tours with the inn right away, which also has its own tour company. When I contacted them to book my stay, they had already quoted tour prices. And to my surprise, when I asked about prices right away, Tiago, the person in charge of this department, always quoted me higher prices than previously quoted. I questioned this, and he quickly adjusted, offering a symbolic discount of just R$40 (for a total tour price of R$990, and we were also staying with them—in other words, without any more friendly terms considering our preference). And we paid absolutely everything upfront. Based on what I'd been told previously, this price was still more expensive than other options I'd researched, from reputable and reputable companies. I asked why it was a little higher. Tiago replied that they were very concerned with comfort, safety, and the quality of their services, and that's why the price was fair. So we believed them and accepted. Note: We'd already taken tours in Atins and a night tour in Santo Amaro with another company, so we already had a good understanding of how their services worked. When we took our first tour with Ciamat, we didn't find anything special. Quite the opposite: distant guides who weren't willing to teach or show us anything about the place, old, overcrowded cars, fully loaded or even overflowing. They still call themselves "eco," but I didn't see anything ecological about them. They use plastic water bottles like everyone else; everything is exactly the same or less expensive than other companies, but at a higher price. The second tour was even worse, given that our time at the lagoon was very short. Another disappointment was the food. The food at the restaurant, which offers an attractive menu, doesn't live up to expectations. It's home-cooked food of very low quality and lacking flavor. Breakfast lacks any variety: bad breads, cold cuts, always the same, the same dry cakes (they taste like store-bought cakes), no cold cuts, yogurt, cheese bread, or a variety of fruits… truly very poor for the value of the inn. It seems there's no effort made to provide the best service. And the worst part was that, since we were tired of the available food and the inn is located across the river, making commuting difficult, we managed to order a pizza for delivery on our last night at the inn. We went to the restaurant kitchen and asked for a pitcher of juice to accompany our meal. The inn was empty, with only a few tables available and a very casual atmosphere—not a refined setting where we would be out of place by eating pizza. We were then informed that we couldn't eat the pizza from outside at the restaurant table, but would have to eat it in our room, which doesn't even have a table. In other words, having to eat in bed, in the same room where we slept. We found this attitude extremely careless and disrespectful to guests, with the sole justification being that this was the restaurant's policy (this requirement didn't come from the staff, but from the owner herself). It's worth noting that the restaurant doesn't serve pizza, and for that reason alone, we ordered from outside. We still decided to drink their juice. In short, a complete disregard. Other details also leave something to be desired: the room lacks shelves, hooks, or any space in general to store our belongings; there's no minibar or TV; the bathroom has no shower stall, divider, or curtain, making everything constantly wet and dirty. In short, we wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's not worth paying a premium to stay away and receive such poor and careless service. It's a shame, because we plan for a good experience, and this ends up affecting us. There are certainly much better places.
