City Premiere Hotel Apartments

Warning. Do not book this hotel. The large two-bedroom apartment we stayed in was admittedly very good, with a fully equipped kitchen, four (!) bathrooms, and a large balcony overlooking the Burj Khalifa. The hotel gym is excellent and the pool area is nice. The hotel is very centrally located, which also means that the noise level by the pool and on the balcony is very high. The reception staff were friendly and service-minded. But. As long as everything runs smoothly, it is easy to maintain a high level of service. It is when problems arise that a hotel is truly put to the test, and this hotel fails completely in meeting its guests. One evening when we returned to the apartment, the room had only been half cleaned, as if housekeeping had been called away for an urgent matter and then forgotten to come back. The beds were unmade, with pillows scattered across the TV sets and tables, surfaces had not been wiped, and there were no toiletries. Worst of all, one of our teenage sons found his T-shirt stuffed into the bidet. The receptionist received our complaint and said he was speechless and had never seen anything like it before. He asked for copies of my photos and told me to seek out the hotel manager the following morning. The next morning, the manager apologized and explained that he would take action with the staff involved. However, he also made it clear that he did not wish to offer any compensation for our inconvenience and distress. After quite firm words, he agreed to have my son’s T-shirt dry-cleaned, but nothing more. I insisted on speaking to his superior, and the following day I met a gentleman who also apologized and expressed his regret and, with great hesitation, offered to treat our family to a hotel breakfast, but nothing beyond that. We accepted the offer and could then observe that the breakfast buffet was served in a cramped dining room with far more guests than the space could accommodate, with unappetizing food that had been sitting out for a long time, and service staff who, with hunted looks in their eyes, offered us coffee in paper cups because “the porcelain had run out.” Had we been offered more than one hotel breakfast as compensation, we would have declined them anyway. The location was excellent and the apartment was nice. But having to engage in two hard negotiations just to receive even minimal compensation for serious failures is unacceptable, and warrants a strong warning: choose another hotel for a stay in Dubai’s Business Bay.

Great one week stay. Very central location, walking distance to Dubai Mall for the 31st December fireworks. 200metres off Business Bay metro station Great and clean apartment Great Burj Khalifa view. 1000s thanks to Ibrahim at the reception desk for his professionalism and making our family feel home.
