Great system

We were there for the second time in October 2025 after two years. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the hotel has deteriorated somewhat. The rooms are still great, modernly furnished, very clean, and the bathrooms are very nice. The only thing missing is towel hooks (still missing, so we brought our own to hang over the shower door). The mattresses are comfortable, there is plenty of storage space, a safe (free of charge), a kettle, coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks. A hairdryer, shower gel, and liquid soap are available. The pool area is very clean and well-maintained, but the water is very cold (20°C). Plenty of loungers are available. The restaurant is busy, with plenty of seating, but it's difficult with larger groups (there were eight of us). Tables are not reserved or pushed together, so you have to be quick. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating, and almost everyone speaks some German. The food has declined; the selection is sufficient, but there are absolutely no highlights anymore; you play it safe here. The dining room is in need of renovation; wallpaper is peeling everywhere, and there are moldy corners, which is very unsightly. Otherwise, it's very clean, but the tables aren't always cleaned thoroughly; there are sticky stains from the last meal or previous guests. The "Pomodoro" beach bar is extremely crowded at mealtimes, very loud, not very clean, and the staff ranges from grumpy to unfriendly. Putting tables together is absolutely frowned upon; you just wait until you find a seat or sit apart (very practical with small children). On the beach, shady spots were scarce and taken early on. Most of the tarpaulins fell victim to a storm and weren't replaced. Spa: still recommended, albeit expensive. The hammam, however, is no good; it's a quick-fix for tourists. Kids' club is okay, but some activities are chargeable and overpriced. Conclusion: recommended with a minor flaw; the price-performance ratio isn't quite right anymore. Still suitable for families with small children, older children have more fun in the neighboring hotel Grand Side (can be shared free of charge) with the Amazon water world.

I cannot understand the great reviews at all! There is either no comparison to other hotels here or the standards are very low! We stayed at the Grand Aqua in October. An ice-cold pool, no service at the pool or beach and an unfriendly check-in describe the hotel in one sentence. I won't be going there a second time! Staff are missing everywhere, the hotel grounds are not well maintained, no service staff! The hotel is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel! ZERO service neither at the pool nor on the beach, just the occasional service at meals. The food was bad, the same thing every day, no variety. The selection in Side (the neighboring hotel) is a bit better but you can't escape the crowds. When we checked in we were not given a WiFi password or informed about à la carte restaurants. All in all you had the feeling you were just annoying as a guest.
