If you stay here TAKE PHOTOS OF ANY DAMAGE BIG OR SMALL UPON YOUR ARRIVAL. We recently stayed here as it was budget friendly and had a kids pool area, which ended up being closed. But when we got to our room it was your typical run down hotel room but sleepable. We immediately noticed some damages that I brushed off as whatever, because I assumed they just didn't want to replace them yet, no biggie to me as that doesnt bother me. However, upon my checkout I was charged for those damaged items. When I tried to dispute it by calling, I was immediately transferred to the manager Rick, whom spoke over me rudely and wouldn't even listen to me, and when I tried to speak up he hung up on me. He now will not take my calls. I'm an honest person. If I damaged something that costs $150, then charge me, that's fine. BUT you will not be charging me for damages I did not create that existed when I arrived. Since they will not take my calls, I am filing a chargeback, filing a complaint with the better business bureau, and have already emailed their corporate office as well. I do hope Rick gets reprimanded, as its super unprofessional to hang up on a customer, and even more unprofessional to charge someone for damages they didnt create. I definitely won't be staying at another Comfort Inn. 0/10 Wouldn't recommend. *Updated to add* - I have officially submitted reports of Fraud to the FTC, as well as the BBB, and Chargebacks are in progress on my end. I am also in active communication with a corporate representative. My next step, if I dont receive my money back, will be an official police report.

Avoid this place. It’s a dump. Hair all over the pillows and blankets, called ahead before booking to make sure pool and slide were open. Turns out they are under construction after being told they were open. Halls and rooms stink of pot and some other nasty bad odor. Took a quick nap with our hoods on, changed sweaters and headed to the next town since it was a tournament weekend in Dickenson. Nasty.

Called to check on security deposit amount and was told "nothing" but then was told $100 hold when went to check in. Asked right then for a late check-out and the evening staff said noon would be fine, that she'd put a note on the desk/reservation for it. Got to the room and the A/C was on. I changed it to low heat and that was a baaaaaaad decision as the room heated to sweltering. I had to turn the heat completely off and the ac on full blast to cool the room off. This took over an hour. Opening the window did nothing as the room overlooked the pool area and it was also sweltering along with hallways. It was over 80 degrees in the hotel. At 11:02 AM, room got a call from the front desk - "check out is at 11". I told him that the lady last night said noon would be okay; he said 11:30 is free, noon would be charged unless you are a Choice member. I am and he looked it up. "Yeah, noon would be okay. We just want to make sure to not degrade Choice membership privileges. You can only get noon for free if you're a Choice member." As a Choice member, I would NOT recommend this hotel. Dingy and bad communications. I will not stay here again.
