Comfort Inn in Ebensburg

Early Saturday morning January 3rd, my wife, dog, and I were in a car accident. The Jackson Fire Chief brought us to the Comfort Inn while we waited to get a ride home as we live 75 miles away. Even though we weren’t guests, the staff took such good care of us and treated us as if we were guests. This meant so much to us. Thank you so much everyone! You made the most frightening day so much easier to deal with.

I attempted to stay at this location on 1/19 when I was traveling with my young daughter and got caught in a snow/ice storm on rt 22. My husband booked a room for my daughter and I online. When we got to the hotel check in was fine but the clerk looked strung out on drugs. There were really sketchy people in the lobby that were clearly friends with the clerk that set my mom safety bell off. I was very stressed as the road conditions were bad and I was worried for our safety on the road. I was so grateful to finally be off the road. I got our stuff up to the room and went to call my husband to let him know we arrived safely. I couldn’t find my phone but remembered I set it on the front desk when I was checking in. I went to the lobby and asked if they had seen one. The clerk was acting strange and said no. I went out to my car and it was not there. I went back to the room and called my husband from the room phone and he used find my phone and said it was at the hotel. I told my husband to keep pinging it until I answered. I finally found it about 8 parking spots away from my car in a snowbank off the parking lot. The original clerk who checked me in was sitting in his car smoking near where I found my phone. My husband is a police officer and said people will steal phones and then pitch them when they can’t get into them. Odd. I go back up to the room and I finally realized the conditions of the room. Dead bugs everywhere. About 30 by the window. Dozens on the floor and more on the bed. I packed our stuff and went to sit in the car to figure out what we were going to do as road conditions were so bad. I did not feel safe at this hotel. The staff was questionable at best and the conditions of the hotel were horrible. As a woman traveling alone or with children I would not stay here. This place has shady stuff going on. My husband called today to see about a refund since we didn’t even stay more than 30 minutes and he was greeted by a wretched woman who cursed at him and told him I should have brought this up at the desk when I was there (I did not feel safe). He waited to call because we’ve been traveling for the holiday. Hands down the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Dangerous and unclean. I would avoid like the plague.
