This was one of the most unsettling hotel stays I’ve had in New York. From the moment staff became aware that I had a service animal, the tone shifted from basic hospitality to hostility. Despite being calmly informed, multiple times, of federal, state and NYC service animal laws, staff repeatedly attempted to impose illegal requirements, escalated interactions unnecessarily and then began a pattern of what can only be described as harassment. After being corrected on ADA compliance, the hotel suddenly claimed there was an “urgent maintenance issue.” Staff entered my room without being able to articulate what the issue was, turned on a faucet, flipped a light switch, whispered among themselves and left. No actual maintenance was performed. The timing and theatrics spoke for themselves. Housekeeping then repeatedly attempted to force entry despite me clearly declining service, doing so with a rude and confrontational attitude. One staff member even made a snide comment about the cleanliness of the room, completely unprofessional and clearly intended to provoke. This property appears to suffer from a serious lack of training, accountability, and leadership. The staff did not behave like hospitality professionals; they behaved like people trying to intimidate a guest after being corrected on the law. Ironically, a poster from NYC explicitly outlining service animal rights exists for businesses like this, yet staff acted as though they had never seen it. I prepaid for my week-long stay expecting a neutral, professional environment. What I received instead was a hostile one that made me feel targeted and unwelcome. I would strongly caution anyone who values basic dignity, professionalism or disability rights to stay elsewhere. This hotel doesn’t just miss the mark on hospitality; it actively undermines it.

The hotel rooms are quite small, but they were clean. The breakfast is adequate. It's advisable to avoid booking a ground-floor room, as it's very noisy there.
