Comfort Inn Pickerington OH

This is going to be a pretty long response, so if you don’t want to read it, scroll to the end where I cover everything I’ve said in a summary section. When my dad and I decided to spend the weekend in Columbus, we looked for hotels and saw this one. It looked good from the outside, and I made the mistake of not looking at reviews. We first arrived on Friday, at ~8:00pm after getting Chipotle. When we first entered, everything looked good. The lobby was clean, and there wasn’t a bad smell. The elevator did make some funky noises, but it didn’t matter much, so I ignored it. The room smelled of a smell I can’t even describe, but it wasn’t a good smell. Five minutes after entering, we saw a MASSIVE bug flying around. My dad was able to grab it, and he had to do it with the tissue from Chipotle (there were no provided tissues in the room). Ten minutes later, another bug appeared and we did the same thing. While getting the bed ready to sleep, I found random black particles on the bed, and saw a snot like smudge on the blankets. The moment I got in bed, I felt itchy but that could have been anxiety. When the morning arrived, I went to shower. The shower itself was good; the water temperature was very controllable. However, the towels were a different story. They smelled SO bad. I felt more unclean after using the towels than showering. I found multiple hairs on the towels and multiple hairs in the sink. Then I went to breakfast. The moment I walked in to the breakfast area, there wasn’t a horrible smell of eggs, which could have just been me. Since I was disgusted by the eggs, I decided to have some cereal with milk. After we got all our breakfast, we sat down and the moment I put a spoonful of cereal in my mouth, I almost threw up. The milk was sour. We decided to leave the hotel for the whole day and come back at night to sleep. When we came back, there wasn’t a HUGE bug infestation, and looking back I don’t even know how I stayed there after that. The next day, we didn’t even eat breakfast and we left. Also, this entire time I saw only one housekeeping employee. Summary: - Bug infestation in the rooms - Horrible smells - Random hairs in bathroom - Horrible breakfast smell (in my opinion) - Expired breakfast food

I love staying here due to the close proximity to work, shopping and dining! The breakfast is a plus!!! Only downside to this location is that it is only one entrance/exit to the property at a busy corner

If I could give 0 I would. First room we were given smelled like cigarette smoke and it was absolutely overwhelming. Yes, we were given a new room but it was no better. Moldy, disgusting, dirty. My husband found a long black hair in a “fresh towel”. Towels felt like cheap polyester. Hallways and elevator stunk of marijuana. For $80/night I was expecting more.
