Comfort Suites Elkhart North

Checked in on March 7th 2026. My wife and I talked it over and got the suite with the jacuzzi tub in the room. Mistake for 400 dollar on card and 100 cash deposit. The room felt like we where going into a horror movie dark and smelly. So many different things. At first we filled the jacuzzi tub to find out the jets would not come on. So I got dressed and went to the desk. She come back and said you gotta use a pen to push hard for the jets to come on. (OK not just a button) so I felt like MacGyver. Then the TV did not come on with cable. So I had two find the dishbox , unplug it , and replug it back in then boom TV. Smoke detector was hanging off the ceiling. Closet doors would not close all the way. And I don't want to talk about the key card because you could see that everybody's post but when ours did work , we had a push the door like running into it , to get it to open. The lock would not open all the way to release. Also screw that bed I was so sore the next morning. The eggs and sausage o man i would not let a enemy eat that crap. The sausage was white and eggs where so wet. Kids running all over the place LOUD RUNNING. O and the pool area was not really a clean or great area. The hot tub was covered with 2 boards and filled with water and a sign said permanently closed. All in all, it looked like there was 10 hotels in that area.I would not stay at this place again if they gave me the rooms for free.... Never again!!!!! Also I don't need the owner to respond with.I'm sorry to hear this.That doesn't matter to me. Clean your hotel, make it better.That's all you need to do.

I don't know how anyone could give this place 5 stars, or even 2. It was one of the worst hotels I've ever visited. We were here with a large group. Nearly every person was locked out of their room multiple times because the keys didn't work. They tried to blame it on us - e.g., our phones were causing the problem. First, half of the population keeps cards in a case attached to their phones - so, if that's the issue, figure it out. Second, it wasn't even true - I kept them separate after they told me that. The cards just don't work. The hotel smells, breakfast "food" did not look edible, and the place is just otherwise rundown (e.g., the algae growing all over the rear exterior of the building. If you're looking for a really cheap hotel that gives you what you pay for, this is your place. But, in an area with many other options, I can't imagine why you'd ever choose this hotel.

Whole hotel smells like chlorine. Ive been here less than 24 hours everytime I go to my room, I have to return to the front desk for a new key (key is kept in my back pocket away from all electronics). They over charged our stay by one night after charging our cards 4 days before our stay (I've never had a hotel charge our card prior to our arrival) then said they are holding the extra amount they charged for a deposit. We travel quite frequently and this is one of the worst experiences I have had. Staff isn't much better than the rest of the review.
