Conrad hotel is an unfriendly hotel. My family and I did not have a pleasant stay. The hotel is a five star hotel supposed to offer guests a good stay to enjoy and relax. However that is not the case because employees are trained to impose the hotel rules and not concerned about serving the guests the best way possible or offering the best possible experience. My family and I do not recommend staying at Conrad Hotel. If you are willing to spend good money I would recommend looking for another five star hotel in Tulum.

I’ve been a Hilton Diamond member for over a decade and stay at Hilton properties around the world every year, but this was one of the most disappointing front desk experiences I’ve had. I requested a paid upgrade to a Ceiba room to make this 20 hour trip - one night- a bit special. Hilton enclave was great last few days . It’s right after the holiday season, the hotel is clearly low in occupancy, and I was fully willing to pay for the upgrade. Despite this, the new front desk supervisor Josmar C showed zero flexibility. He didn’t offer alternatives, goodwill options, or even a Diamond recognition—just a hard “no” without any effort to accommodate a loyal guest. In hospitality, especially at a brand like Conrad, you expect professionalism and a guest-first mindset. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and rigid, which is not what you want to experience when you’re on vacation. I truly hope management sees this and addresses the issue, because Conrad usually delivers exceptional service—but this supervisor’s attitude was far below brand standards.

Tulum had been on our travel list for years, so we finally decided to splurge on a weekend getaway at the beautiful Conrad Hilton. It’s pricey—no doubt—but absolutely worth every penny. From the moment you step through the grand entry doors and see the reflection pool, to the exceptional service from every staff member, the wow factor is undeniable. As an airline pilot, I’ve stayed in more hotels than I can count—more than a Las Vegas hooker, honestly—and I’ve experienced everything from “sleep on top of the sheets” accommodations to feeling like royalty. This hotel falls squarely in the royalty category. The property is stunning, with a contemporary design and a secluded cove location that immediately won us over. The staff genuinely cares about your experience, too. The concierge team actually *concierges*—they helped us with dinner reservations, transportation, and off-site activities. Ricardo, our concierge, even gave us his direct WhatsApp contact so we could reach him anytime. Truly top-shelf service like I’ve never seen. The restaurants offered a great variety of dishes and outstanding quality, and the service at every dining venue was exceptional—truly crème de la crème hospitality. Pricing is comparable to downtown Miami, so if you're on a tight budget, this may not be the place to fully relax and enjoy. But the beach, pools, and especially the spa were incredible. My wife and I booked a couples Swedish massage, and the attendants were phenomenal. The spa itself is almost its own resort, with relaxation pools, steam rooms, beautifully designed facilities, and a calming contemporary aesthetic. We left feeling like we never wanted to go home. Our room featured a built-in balcony bathtub overlooking the ocean, and even the shower had breathtaking sea views through a massive window. If you’re willing to splurge for a special occasion or a much-needed escape, this is the place. A quick tip for future guests: bring some cash for tipping. I couldn’t find an ATM onsite, so I had to add tips to the room charges, though I prefer tipping in cash. We also visited the Tulum ruins, which are about 30 minutes away. Arrive before 3 p.m., as the national park stops admitting visitors without a tour guide later in the day. Guides were about $125 at the time of this visit, and there were no ATMs there either. Luckily, taxis and park entry can be paid by credit card or smartphone. We flew into Tulum’s new airport, which is convenient but currently only offers one daily flight to and from Miami. You can also fly into Cancun, which has more options but is about a 2.5-hour drive. From Tulum Airport, the drive to the hotel took about an hour—and the taxi drivers will happily test your nerves at 150 km/h. Bottom line: prepare to spend, but the experience is absolutely worth it. The beautiful facilities and incredibly attentive staff made this a true 5-star stay. Thank you, Conrad Tulum, for an unforgettable getaway!
