Wonderful stay, we just went back for a second time! Since we had two months to travel around Costa Rica, we returned to this lodge a month after our first visit – and that really says it all. Both times we arrived via Sierpe. Parking for a rental car is easy and safe there. Then it's a boat trip (depending on the sea conditions) to the lodge, which takes about 1.5 hours – first through the mangroves along the river, then across the open sea. The exceptional warmth and friendliness of the entire staff deserves special mention. Every single employee is attentive, cheerful, and genuinely interested. We would particularly like to mention Ariel, Karina, and Marco, who made our stay even more special. We stayed once in a Rainforest Villa and once in an Ocean View Villa. Both accommodations are beautiful, tastefully furnished, and very clean. The entire property is very natural, which leads to numerous animal and bird sightings right on the grounds. The pool (there are two in total, the other one is a bit cooler) has a pleasant, perfect temperature for relaxing. Food: Lunch and dinner were consistently fantastic, and our special requests were always accommodated. Luis was an excellent host at Terra Kitchen – with a breathtaking view of the sea. The breakfast buffet was adequate for us as vegetarians, but could be improved in terms of freshness and variety. Tours: We participated in the Night Walk, the San Pedrillo Hike twice, and the Sirena Hike. All the tours were great and very memorable. We saw an incredible number of monkeys, especially during the Sirena tour – an absolute highlight. We would like to give special mention to Steven: He has a calm, very friendly manner, shows genuine interest in his guests, possesses enormous expertise, and has an impressive eye for birds and animals. The breakfast buffet was okay for us as vegetarians, but could be improved in terms of freshness and variety. Value for money: Thanks to the extraordinary friendliness of the staff, the unique location and the beautiful rooms, we felt the value for money – despite the high price – was reasonable.
