Cosmopolitan Hotel

DO NOT STAY HERE, your money for your WHOLE stay is taken out of your account 2 days PRE stay without warning! 5 stars hotels in the city don't even do this but apparently its their "policy and procedures" and apparently a half hearted apology is suffice when I called expressing my displeasure with that situation. The staff do not know how to communicate either as they also take your security deposit with no verbal warning on check-in. On arrival the rooms might as well be "cheap and cheerful"....definitely not worth the money you pay! Mould in the bathroom, the grouting stained in the shower and a different colour from the bathroom itself. Clear electrical faults as the air-conditioning is clearly not serviced, made gurgling sounds during the night and the control panel smashed. Speaking of, the walls and roof are paper thin, hearing people snore in the next room, people slamming doors and footsteps upstairs. Fridge also runs loud and the bedside table lamps flicker when the fridge re-boots! Wrote and email to complain as our verbal feedback on check in was brushed off, only to be brushed off yet again and told we should have complained on checkout (after being out all night and coming back late, we just wanted to get home somewhere decent to rest our heads) No compensation or any peace offering offered. A disappointing stay followed up by a disgusting response from their staff! Not impressed!!! I will endeavour to share the word on how disappointing and disgusting this hotel is! Go and treat yourself to a nice room closer to the city, least they won't take your money PRE stay! To top things off they stuffed up my Mums booking offering her a cheaper rate. She cancelled her booking through another service and turns up to this hotel to check in only to be told her booking doesn't exist! Absolute joke!!! Don't bother even looking at this place!!!

Value for money. We had a two room apartment, rooms good size, very clean, beds comfortable. Location is perfect for a place to stay when visiting St Kilda. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Melbourne.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! If I could give no stars I would! I recently stayed at the cosmopolitan with a friend as we had an event close by. And while I can appreciate pictures looking a bit more modern or done up when looking through hotel photos this was down right false advertising. I booked a superior queen room and I honestly don’t even know where to start.. the state of the room was DISGUSTING!! The filth we arrived too was by far the worst experience iv ever had with a hotel. There was finger marks dragged down the wall above the bed (IYKY), there was a crunchy white substance on one of our pillow cases 🤢, there was someone else plastic cutlery (rubbish) left on the floor to only name a few things. I obviously brought this to the receptions attention, we never once spoke out of term or with any disrespect but we felt there had to be something they could do to make the experience a little more pleasant (would have been happy if it was cleaned) just to be told : “there’s nothing we can do as we are ‘almost’ booked out, unless you want to pay for an upgrade” “the people that stayed before you didn’t have any issues” “you’re entitled to your opinion” “House keeping is finished for the day so we can’t have your room cleaned, we deep clean once a month” To have that attitude towards a genuine complaint is down right unprofessional and extremely disappointing. Anyway have fun looking out the pictures of the squalor we paid to stay at 🤦‍♀️
