Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Elgin, IL

Room was fairly clean. Missing all the towels and they had no one to bring them to us at 6pm, on the 3rd floor, after the only elevator stopped for a long pause in between each floor. TV had issues, I think it was more the remote than anything. Pool was out of service but that didn't affect us. Bed & pillows were pretty good. Everything seemed pretty clean for the most part. Desk phone was dead but didn't investigate since we just used our cell phones. Caught the tail end of breakfast which was just ok.

This was definitely the weirdest most inappropriate experience I have ever had with a hotel. I reserved this hotel the same day after finding out a family friend passed away in their home state of Illinois and if we wanted to make it to the funeral we had to get here by this weekend. Me and my cousin had both worked that day we made the reservation but still packed & drove down from south east Ohio. Although we tried to make it straight through, we stopped shortly after crossing into Indiana and got a motel for the night. When we woke up, I called the hotel and explained the situation said I am just making sure we still have the room for the second night since they already charged me over 220$ for two nights. I talked to a woman who was very kind. The lady said no problem I have the room reserved until 11 am the next day. Upon my arrival, the night shift worker ( who was a male ) looked very irritated somebody had walked in so late. He said I should have called and I said I did call because I wouldn’t have started driving 5 hours away if I didn’t have a safe place to stay and reserved already. He said it was odd that I am arriving so late and asked if I was alone and if I was safe? He started getting mean and asked me if I even knew the person I was traveling with ( MY FEMALE COUSIN ) and that we couldn’t have any “ men or exes in the room “. I said I am aware of that and that’s why it’s only has two people listed for us. He was very rude the whole time. I asked if he asked every female hotel guest if they knew the person they were traveling with and that it was weird we were driving separate: and if he told every female guest they couldn’t have men or “ exes “ in there room. I told him me and my cousin came to Illinois for a funeral and idk why he was treating me like that. I went to my room after he finally gave me my key card after 30 minutes of interrogating and I immediately booked another hotel. I had my cousin go straight there and said I would met her in the morning after I reported that man’s unusual behavior. If he wasn’t basically accusing me of being an escort or prostitute I would of thought he was getting any answers he needed to abduct me himself. The front desk lady in the day time listened to me and said she doesn’t know why I was asked those things or told those things then, the male staff member I was talking about ran to us and started saying he was right there if I wanted to talk about something I could SPEAK TO HIM. I just left. I hope something is done about this. I am 27 years old and have never been treated like that and I travel for work a lot. Have checked into many places late. He was a Caucasian male later aged either named Dan or Brandon or something like that. Beware if you are a woman going to this hotel. Im afraid of what he can do with my information.

Even though it seems very dated, it was clean quiet. It was a good couple of nights. Thank you.
