A disgrace to the Marriott brand. A poorly managed hotel where management is only concerned with positive online reviews, not the quality of service and cleanliness of the rooms. We were checked into a completely filthy room: trash and crumbs on the floor, three layers of dust everywhere, a sticky bathroom, table, and telephone. After cleaning, there was hair on the bed linen. All this perfectly complements the old rooms, which are clearly in need of restoration. At breakfast, piles of plates left by departed guests can sit for hours: apparently, management thinks that if there are empty tables and places to sit, there's no need to bother cleaning. Meanwhile, a bunch of staff just stand around and chatter among themselves, including management. Interestingly, when we asked to speak to management, we were ignored. The hotel stinks everywhere: the staff successfully sprays cheap perfume to cover the old smell, creating a terrible atmosphere. Beware of reviews: the staff literally tried to snatch my phone from me at check-out to help me with a review on the booking system.

It was our first time in Dubai and we stayed for five nights at Courtyard by Marriott Al Barsha. The room was realy clean and comfortable. The team offered excellent hospitality throughout our stay. Perfect location — just a short 5-minute walk from the Mall of the Emirates, in a safe and secure area. Special thanks to Dines for his wonderful service. We’ll definitely be returning!
