I had the opportunity to stay for 3 days and 2 nights with my family over the Christmas holidays. We used 3 rooms. The rooms do look a bit worn in terms of furniture. The beds are comfortable, and the ocean view from the rooms is very nice. The hotel pool and bar are amazing; the pool water is a pleasant temperature, and it has direct access to the ocean right in the tourist area, so it was very nice to walk around there. The hotel is generally very well located right in the tourist area of Mazatlán, next to the boardwalk. The restaurants there are quite good, and there are always activities to do as a tourist. The bad part was the service. From the moment we tried to enter the hotel to check in, the security guard harassed us for not having a wristband to verify our stay. After checking in, which was a slow and drawn-out process, we were able to go to our rooms, which, unlike other hotels I've stayed in, didn't offer much. They barely gave us a single coffee, for a room with several people. For the rest of our stay until we left the hotel, the same security guard kept harassing us and questioning whether we were guests because of the wristband (which they hadn't given us at reception despite us checking in). The strange thing is that he didn't question the other guests, who were white, even though they didn't have wristbands either. In short, the hotel's facilities are elegant, but the service is terrible, so it's not worth the price at all. Especially if you're a dark-skinned Mexican, I don't recommend staying here. There are better hotels with warmer service and better prices.

I have been staying in this hotel about 5 time since it was opened. Unfortunately, the las two times that we stayed we noticed how bad maintenance had gotten. Service is bad particularly in the pool area. Short staff, not friendly, dirty pool beds and tables, they don’t offer service unless go directly to the bar and order drinks. In other words the staff don’t make you feel like you are in a five star resort or on vacation. I stayed for 8 days and none of the days I saw people giving service to the pool or cleaning the pool area. The water on the pool seems dirty. The rooms are a little more acceptable but bathrooms are old and rusted. The highlight of this hotel is the location and view. I hope staff put more effort into this hotel.
