Loved the location in SoHo, room was accommodating. I booked a high floor room but felt that the extra cost was a waste because you just see the inside of the businesses across the way. Better off just booking a standard room. I also listed on my reservation we were celebrating an engagement but the guy at the desk seemed like he couldn't be bothered. The other staff were helpful during my stay.

I was really looking forward to my stay here until the time came to be. I won’t speak on all of Marriott but this location specifically (Soho/Manhattan) is full of staff that don’t seem to understand professionalism or communication. Sept 25- check in (stay was paid until the 28th) until we entered the room to just little turn offs nothing too major. Dirty bed, wrinkly sheets, it was giving unwashed. Better yet, second day comes around. Inside the mini fridge was capsules of some sort found within (looks like drugs). Imagine a child consumed god knows what? Did the cleaning team not check to make sure of an empty fridge or was this just not seen I’m upset and so is my girlfriend so we call front desk, the gentleman sort of brushed the concern off his shoulder (no questions were asked- maybe things like this happen often) but assures us he can only refund the third night. (First night we slept there, second as an early checkout fee). Thought that alone wasn’t necessarily enough for the risk of my child’s life but accepted it and moved on. Now is where I’m really let down with this company/hotel. No refund a week later, I call and now a manager is telling me the guy who checked us out is new to the team and didn’t know bookings through third party’s (we booked with expedia) are not applicable to ANY refund. Maybe train your staff better was my thought, but this manager i spoke to, Tyrone, tells us this way now and so we paid for a hotel in new york we didn't even fulfill the stay in. At this point I wish i sold the mysterious pill to make up for a portion of the room because what ?! Mariott do better. I have called and emailed customer service continuously back and forth promised to hear back from the hotel, and nearly 2 months later and I still hear nothing from the General Manager
