I had a great stay at Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Downtown, and honestly, what made it special wasn’t just the hotel itself—it was the people. Jesús truly stood out. His kindness and customer service were exceptional, and he went out of his way to make us feel genuinely cared for throughout the day. No matter how nice a hotel is, it’s the way the staff makes you feel that really matters, and Jesús absolutely nailed that. He brought such positive energy and made us feel happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. Huge thank you to him—I really appreciate his effort and warmth.

Unfortunately I was not overly impressed by the service and cleanliness of our room while staying at the Marriott in Santa Barbara Downtown. The bed linens were stained. It's pretty shocking that housekeeping would put a white bedspread on a bed that is stained. When calling the front desk to ask for fresh linens there was no apology. This hotel offers 24 hr Starbucks coffee machine. I went to check in area where coffee machine was located and the machine was out of dark roast which is my preference. I brought this to the attention of the front desk in which she replied "yeah, I need to refill the beans". I stood there waiting for her to come and refill the beans but instead she was on her phone, texting or doing something else instead. So, I instead selected another coffee version since she was not coming to assist with refilling the dark roast that was out. I also have status and requested both early check in and late check out on my reservation but this was never recorded with the Hotel and the front desk did not offer me my complimentary waters upon check in which is another perk to my status.
