The hotel is no doubt beautiful and the staff helpful but there are some practical issues you should be aware of before booking, the most important of which is the sound proofing. 1) The walls between rooms are so incredibly thin. You can hear your neighbours entire conversations and movements and that is no exaggeration. We were woken up early (6am) both days of our stay and kept up late - I am grateful the staff intervened but it was still frustrating. I read other reviews mentioning the wall issue and didn’t think it would be a problem as we aren’t light sleepers and never have this issue in hotels, but the sound proofing is zero and therefore you’re at the ransom of whoever is next door. 2) The lakeside location is perfect until the tour cruises dock up just in front of the hotel (a stopping spot) with their speakers and guests etc. It isn’t the hotels fault but it’s worth being aware if you are coming to relax and spend a lot of time in the hotel that this is the case. 3) I found the restaurant really good and the staff attentive. That being said there was an insect in my dish on the first day breakfast, it was dealt with professionally by the waitress but we wasted a lot of the morning waiting for new dishes. 4) I liked the WhatsApp communication throughout the stay but I did find the text first thing in the morning of check out saying if we were late on the 12pm deadline then we would be made to pay a fee a little condensing and not the right tone at the end of an expensive stay.
