Went for an afternoon tea. The service was great, everybody very attentive. The food was disappointing. Tasty, but tiny, and certainly nothing like the photo attached. The scones are tiny, and there seems to be a worldwide shortage of clotted cream. Whatever that is on the middle plate in the photo, I'll never know. We didn't get it. Just cakes very obviously out a packet, scones the size of small pebbles, a teaspoon of clotted cream, and 3 tiny sandwiches. It's way overpriced, and they shouldn't be showing things in the photo (loaf cake) which they don't give you

Very disappointing for the price ( castle room) 2 night stay and not once did we have room serviced, maid knocked on door at 9 o’clock at night asking if we wanted turn down, iron in room but no ironing board my daughter booked a family room and the extra bed was a camp bed with an iron bar across the middle and a 2 inch mattress Also no Porter to take luggage to room there is a lift but was only told after my daughter had lugged her luggage up the stairs You have to walk over the carpark to the new block for meals and first day we arrived not told we needed to book a table so hence was fully booked Room service menu limited was an understatement because it had to be carried from across the carpark from the new block in case it got cold Will defiantly not be returning and will defiantly not return Shame as I believe the owners forked out £20 mil for renovations They maybe should have saved some for decent staff as we only saw 2 young girls at anyone time

Beautiful hotel. Food amazing entertainment fab. Service was a bit slow. Waited 20 mins for a pot of tea in the morning and table service similar however staff were all lovely and polite and friendly so this was a small hitch. Otherwise fantastic
