Bar the warm check in, it felt like a hotel with little interest in solo business travel. Having driven from Manchester to arrive around 6.30pm. Had time to try the club lounge, no issue there. But later after a quick dash to the nearby shopping centre. Returned to the bar and restaurant. No one was in the restaurant and no one about. 10 mins passed then looking around someone appeared. I asked about the restaurant meals. She handed me a menu and disappeared. No sign of anyone again and suddenly serving food to a table at the bar. Ignored me completely. So no food there. Later tried room service, dialled the number then reception no answer. No call back. So no dinner that night. Breakfast was ok again saying I had no booking for breakfast but was confirmed in check in. Had to wait then go to reception with the lady to check. It was sorted then. Check out I mentioned the dinner and room service. All I got was a sorry from the reception. As a IHG diamond member was less then impressed with the service compared to Crowne Plaza NEC. A bit of courtesy would be expected. Possibly contender for worst attitude and service this year.
