I booked a ladies' room, but when I checked in I was told, "There are no amenities exclusive to ladies' rooms." I was told to get my basic skincare products from the amenity buffet next to the front desk, but some of the items hadn't been replenished. I don't know why there are no amenities exclusive to ladies' rooms, but it was a small thing, but it was disappointing. When I entered the room, I found long hairs that didn't belong to me in the bathroom, and the sloppy cleaning was obvious. Even if I stay in Kyoto again, I probably won't choose this hotel again.

The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were a group of two adults and two children, and they even provided extra toiletries for the two kids. The lobby was spacious and comfortable, with a craft area for making amulets, which the kids loved. We stayed in a double room, but the beds could be pushed together, making it quite spacious for both adults and children. There was even a bathtub, which the kids enjoyed. The amenities were very complete, though you had to go down to the lobby on the first floor to get them. Toner, makeup remover, lotion, etc., were all in small packages and were available for free. We especially loved the plum and kelp tea provided by the hotel; it was caffeine-free and a wonderful treat in the evening. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. The kids loved it, and the adults thought it was great too. The location is also fantastic, less than 30 seconds from Lin MRT station! Breakfast was 2200 yen per adult and 1100 yen per child, very plentiful and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again! 👍

In English: The Shijo Karasuma Daiwa Roynet Hotel has by far the most friendly, helpful, and professional staff of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When I told them I injured my foot, they sat me down and brought me ice. When there was a minor issue with my room, they immediately switched me to another one. When I visit Kyoto again, I’ll be back to this exact hotel. My experience here has been that good. In Japanese: The Shijo Karasuma Daiwa Roynet Hotel has by far the most friendly, helpful, and professional staff of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When I told them I injured my foot, they immediately helped me sit in a chair and brought me ice. When there was a minor issue with my room, they immediately changed me to another one.
