A Wonderful Return After Many Years The last time I stayed at Danfords was back in 1992, so returning after all these years was a real treat. This time I came alone and had a very nice room—though I would have loved one a floor higher. The ambiance and décor are wonderfully tasteful, and the facilities are comfortable and well-appointed. It felt cozy and welcoming, and I’m already looking forward to coming back again. The location is right in the heart of Port Jefferson, and the atmosphere with the small houses surrounding the hotel feels very cozy. The room was very clean and in good condition. I especially appreciated the separation between the bed and the living area, which is very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were also attractive and well-maintained.

The room was a nice king size with a fireplace. I loved that it had a balcony that looked at the water and ferry area. The fireplace is large and great to be able to use a real log. The only downfall is you can hear a lot of noise upstairs but I would definitely come again!

My wife and I took a one day getaway and decided to stay at this hotel. It was on one of the coldest days. I can remember where the real feels were down to 15 below. Such a nice stay and the rooms were super nice, comfortable and clean. The restaurant was all so very fantastic and had a great menu where both my wife and I could find items we liked. The staff was so courteous in the dining room and in the hotel. Because it was an exceptionally cold night, the original room we got was quite cool and when I called the front desk they immediately came up, moved us to a different room that did not face the ocean and we were absolutely fine. We definitely will be coming back here and we truly appreciated this wonderful hotel
