Location: This hotel is located in the center of Popayán, close to everything. It's very central and spacious, as it was formerly a monastery for monks. Amenities: The stay includes a buffet breakfast, access to spa facilities such as a Turkish sauna and swimming pool, and standard hotel amenities like Wi-Fi, towels, toilet paper, and other bathroom supplies. Service: In general, the service is good; the staff is friendly and welcoming. However, two employees are currently quite aggressive and seem to scold guests for everything. One works at reception and the other in the restaurant. Food: While the breakfast is good, it's a buffet with a variety of foods, fruits, cheeses, eggs with everything, and many other delicious options. The weak point is the restaurant's à la carte menu. I even had a problem with a pasta dish I ordered because it had burnt pieces and really lacked flavor. I left a comment about it, and they were receptive to the complaint. The food is seriously lacking in flavor, and the dishes aren't cheap at all. They seem to have put more effort into the names of the dishes than into the seasoning and quality of the ingredients. I think that's a major weakness, and generally, during the four days I was there, the restaurant wasn't full, only those of us who were just passing through. Another weak point I noticed is the pool. I think it needs maintenance, and generally, I never saw anyone there; it was always closed. Personally, I find this hotel very pleasant. Its colonial ambiance is representative of the city, it has ample space for walking, a large parking lot, and is very quiet. The Wi-Fi service is good, and the quality of the pillows and towels is generally good. The two aspects that could be improved are the service from two people whose names I unfortunately don't know, but who provide quite poor service, and the seasoning of the food, or perhaps a change of cook in the kitchen, as the dishes are quite bland and lack flavor. I recommend the hotel. The two aspects I mentioned don't detract from my overall positive rating. While the stay is expensive, I believe the breakfast and the facilities in general more than justify the cost.
