Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Pocahontas

The experience I had at check in with the older woman (apologies I didn’t catch your name) was great. I accidentally spilled my drink on the front rug and she was nice and cleaned up what I didn’t get a chance to quickly. Lexy was also great in the evening yesterday when we had questions she helped no problem . The room was not super clean but not majorly dirty either I guess. The hotel itself seemed to have a slight musty/moldy smell especially in the room. The floor was kind of gross and under the closest queen bed to the door on the skirting part there was dirt or whatever caked under there.(picture to follow if it will let me) Other than that our stay seemed to be going in a great direction. However, morning staff and the situation I had this morning not so much. My family and I came out close to the end of breakfast and grabbed food. The staff member began cleaning the area around 9 am, she was nice enough. I believe her name tag said her name was Delana(I could’ve misspelled here). We noticed one other person, a man grabbing breakfast. The worker spoke to him and mentioned wanting to “punch” another newer worker for not “putting things back correctly” under the counter. Which wasn’t really appropriate in front of guests I’d say but whatever. The man was hard to understand but apparently asked her for a photo because he spoke something unintelligible to her and then she said,”Ok.” Before finishing up what she was doing and coming back to take a selfie with him on his phone. I’d have honestly not even wrote this much in a review until what happened next. Regarding that man also in the lobby, he seemed harmless until he decided to take a picture of me and my infant son. The way he went about it was creepy but obvious. He at first had his phone raised up like he was taking a picture of the chandelier style lights, then slowly pointed it down towards us. My daughter happened to be grabbing more syrup for her waffle right behind him (he was facing us, the staff member was in the pantry cleaning up) and came up to me uncomfortable saying, “Mom, he took a picture of you. I saw you and my brother on that man’s phone.” I decided best course of action since you never know what someone is capable of, was to tell the worker. I went to the pantry door and asked her if she knew the man. She said yes so I told her he took a picture of me and my baby and she responded with something along the lines of, “Are you sure? He goes to my church every Sunday.” I reiterated that yes, I was sure. Not really understanding what church has to do with being weird and taking pictures of other guests. She said she’d address it. She did not to my knowledge do that. He finished up his food, spoke to her before leaving in a red truck that was parked right outside the lobby. Regardless if he was an actual patron or just coming in for the free breakfast because it’s a small town and he knows whoever, it was a very weird interaction. After he left, she walked by and apologized for his behavior and said something about him having issues and that he’s mentally like 14. To me that doesn’t really matter because nothing was actually done about his behavior and he still has at least the one photo of myself and my child on his cellphone. Being a small woman I was not comfortable confronting him but asking the worker for help/notifying her did nothing. I am planning to provide pictures below if it will let me. Overall experience left me a bit unsettled as it seems that man frequents there or at least the lobby. If you stay at this location just be aware of him or anyone for that matter. Beyond that it would’ve been a decent enough experience for a 2 star hotel.

The staff were very nice. The rooms were very clean and larger than I thought they would be. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

the Motel is nice, clean, room was large, the only issue is the mattress was very hard and the pillows are small. But overall, it was good for an overnight stay.
