With our arrival at the hotel, the reception staff were very polite and advised us to have dinner first, as we arrived in the evening shortly before dinner service ended. After that, we checked into our room, and this is where the problems began. The room was dirty, and the bathroom was the worst part. I was extremely disappointed and went back to reception, where there was already a different employee. He was also polite, and we explained very clearly that the room was too dirty and that we could not spend our stay there. He said there was no problem — they seemed to be aware of the cleanliness issues — and immediately offered us another room to see. The bathroom in the second room was relatively cleaner, but to avoid going into too much detail, we ended up finding a shop, buying cleaning products and cleaning again ourselves. The cleaners who were working around the reception area and the lobby bar were really trying their best to keep the floors clean — that seemed to be their main focus. I won’t even go into detail about the windows and mirrors, which were left uncleaned everywhere throughout the hotel. Regarding the food, there were some tasty options, and there was a reasonable variety, although the dishes were often repetitive. This was not a major issue, as we eventually found an alternative place to eat. The staff were very polite — that was the most impressive thing about our stay. However, in my opinion, this hotel is not worthy of four stars and should be rated lower. The hotel itself is not bad as a building, but if management paid proper attention to cleanliness everywhere, it could be much better. I cannot comment on the pools or spa areas, because after seeing the state of the rooms and common spaces, I did not want to explore any further for fear of what else I might see. Unfortunately, I would not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to friends. I am sorry, but this is the honest truth.
