Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon

This is my second visit to this hotel. My initial experience was positive, this current stay has provided a more comprehensive understanding of the service quality. The accommodations appear somewhat dated, which may account for the property's branding as a more modest Marriott offering. The dining options are acceptable, though the pricing seems disproportionate to the value. The fitness center, however, is a notable highlight. My primary concern stems from room 122, which I was informed was a free upgrade. This room presented significant cleanliness issues, including the presence of moths in the bathroom, stains, and general refuse, suggesting a lapse in housekeeping standards. This is particularly disappointing given the excellent experience during my first visit. Edit: and the sink was blocked too. Frustrating, no one picked up at reception when I called them.

We spent the weekend at the Delta Swindon Marriott Hotel to visit my son who lives nearby. We felt very spoilt the moment we walked in. We were greeted with a lovely aroma and an exceptionally pleasant receptionist (I think her name was Tacinta). Our room was comfortable and more than adequately equipped. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom neat and tidy, the room was clean and everything we needed was provided. A beverage station, A little fridge, a nice big television, plump pillows, warm duvet, fluffy white towels and nice toiletries. We had breakfast in the morning and were served By the very hospitable Monica. She was an absolute delight, cheerful and extremely accommodating with our requests. The buffet was fabulous catering for all tastes. They were happy to provide items not laid out, for example omelettes, poached eggs, oats and apparently they also had pancakes! All in all our stay was really lovely. The staff were top-notch and went beyond our expectations, the room was comfortable and they had Blue Badge parking outside the door which was mostly available. They cater fairly well for my disability and if I had to really nitpick, the only complaint I could find, Was that it was not so easy for me to enter and exit the pool with the metal upright stairs. However, their Fitness Centre was well equipped, the pool area spacious, well maintained and again, the staff on reception really helpful. They have a small beauty salon downstairs with a disabled lift access. We would definitely return, and certainly plan to, the next time we come to Swindon. In fact, I will most likely have to become a loyalty member, as we were so impressed by this Hotel and their staff, (Who are a real credit to the Delta Swindon).

Not bad but not good either. Nice staff, good facilities but seems like either poor or incompetent management. Food menu is great, but poorly cooked. Things don't work properly that need fixing. Seems like there's no effective management to make sure that the owners investment works.
