2 stars... the only stars this hotel truly deserves! Overnight stay. 1 adult, 2 children. First disappointment: the games room (which this hotel boasts about) was in such a mess and state of disrepair that it was simply unusable. It looked like we'd just arrived after a Project X shoot. Second disappointment: the restaurant. A poor choice, no doubt. I opted for the €22 burger. Minimalist. Count on 4 ingredients: brioche bun 80%, steak 15%, white onion compote 4%, black cheddar (oh my, how original!!) 1%... and absorbed by the spongy bun. Bring a carafe of water to wash it all down. And sacrilege, even the sacrosanct breakfast (supposedly THE Novotel signature) was disappointing. Was the chef poached from an Ibis Budget or a Formule 1? 🤔 Third disappointment and major drawback: the room. Only the TV seems dated, like it's from after 2000. One rough bath towel for three people (darn, I forgot my towels). The shower-bathtub has a cheap, limescale-covered showerhead that only trickles out (darn, I forgot my drain cleaner). The sink is clogged (darn, I forgot my drain cleaner). The bedding (mattress and pillows) is worn and uncomfortable (darn, I forgot my pillow and mattress). And not a single USB port (darn, I forgot my charger... well, that's my fault 😉). In short, an outdated Novotel that relies solely on the decor of its lobby to save face. While the staff is indeed very welcoming and friendly, that's not enough. Let me know when this hotel has been completely renovated... and is (once again) worthy of a 4-star rating. That's really not enough, and I leave the hotel feeling... tired... before hitting the road again 🫩

It's wonderful to return to this hotel after a road trip and relax like you're at home. The hotel staff is exceptional, incredibly kind, especially the receptionist on the afternoon of December 22nd. She was absolutely wonderful. The restaurant staff are also fantastic; it's lovely to see people who have been there for years. In my case, it's been nine years of staying at this hotel, and it never disappoints.
