Djerba Golf Resort & Spa

I stayed at the Djerba Golf Resort & Spa from December 30th to January 7th, 2026. My review is based solely on this experience, which took place during a particular period: high occupancy around the Christmas and New Year holidays, followed by a gradual decrease in the number of guests starting in early January. The resort is ideally located opposite the Djerba golf course, in a quiet tourist area, set back from the main road, with direct access to the beach. Midoun is 3–4 km away (approximately €1.50 by taxi), Houmt Souk is about 18 km away (€4), and the airport is about a 30-minute drive. Taxis are plentiful in front of the hotel, and, a welcome feature, the meter is always running, without any discussion or negotiation. Upon arrival, the welcome is efficient, smooth, and warm. Check-in is quick, well-organized, and handled courteously. The main building impresses with its sheer size: vast, almost majestic. It houses a large reception desk, several shops, conference rooms, a spa, and a heated, supervised indoor pool, a welcome feature in winter. The entire complex is cohesive, clean, and meets the standards of major hotels in tourist areas. During the off-season, the Blue Bar, open from 9 a.m. to midnight, is the main social hub. Comfortable armchairs, a calm atmosphere, and a wide selection of drinks are available, in keeping with the all-inclusive package. A shisha bar nearby adds to the lobby's sophisticated ambiance in the evenings. The main restaurant operates with convenient opening hours. The buffet is extensive, well-presented, and offers a successful balance between Western cuisine and Tunisian specialties. The dishes are varied, well-seasoned, and flavorful. The dining room is bright, spacious, and very clean, and the atmosphere remains pleasant even during peak periods. My stay was in a "premium" room with a sea view (although the sea is still a few hundred meters away). The comfort level was very satisfactory: quality bedding, a large bed, a sofa, a mini-fridge, a free safe, a television with French channels, a good-sized terrace, and efficient heating in winter. The air conditioning operates from June 1st to September 30th, in accordance with Tunisian regulations. The main drawback concerns the bathroom: the bathroom is clearly outdated, the bathtub is old with missing enamel, there are traces of rust, the water pressure is sometimes low, and the water is occasionally lukewarm and slightly reddish. This was the major downside of the stay. If a problem is reported, the reception staff responds quickly, and a room change, sometimes with an upgrade, can be offered depending on availability. Also worth noting: the rooms operate with keys, not cards, and there is only one key per room. Cleanliness is impeccable, both in the rooms and in the common areas. The staff is one of the hotel's greatest strengths: friendly, helpful, smiling, and genuinely kind—a reputation fully confirmed by my experience. The services are numerous: currency exchange at the standard rate, ATM, excursions, on-site shops, and conference rooms. Entertainment is provided even during off-peak periods: morning walks, gymnastics, pétanque, darts, archery, games, table tennis, dance classes, aerobics, yoga, and themed evenings. New Year's Eve deserves special mention, with a festive dinner accompanied by high-quality entertainment. The outdoor facilities are very pleasant: well-maintained gardens, a large outdoor pool, a paddling pool, plenty of sun loungers, and a spa. Security is visible and reassuring: 24/7 surveillance, access control from the beach, wristbands for guests, and in-room safes. There is no feeling of insecurity. The Wi-Fi is good in the rooms and common areas. A pleasant hotel, remarkable staff, exemplary cleanliness, and excellent value for money. A safe choice for a peaceful stay in Djerba.

New Year's Eve 2026 Experience: It's not worth the €50 price tag. The New Year's Eve dinner, competing with 300 other people, doesn't equate to quality service. Although the food showed good intentions, the organization and management clearly lacked experience. There's no gym. The food is plentiful and varied, but the staff shortage is noticeable at times. The water in the rooms is lukewarm at best, anywhere in the hotel. The Wi-Fi is unstable with 200 guests. The housekeeping and maintenance team does a good job. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and a manageable size. The rooms are clean and well-proportioned. The entertainment is more suited to older guests. The reception staff is responsive and efficient, but not always pleasant.

We had a wonderful week at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming—waiters, entertainers, beach attendants, and reception. (Thank you to Hamida for her professionalism!) The food was good quality, with a good selection of fish for every meal. The dessert buffet was excellent. The weather was very pleasant at that time of year, which meant we were at the beach every day (an average of 27 degrees Celsius). The pool is huge and peaceful with plenty of sun loungers. Our room was quiet and well-located for getting around. We were traveling with elderly people (87 years old). The only downside was that the bathrooms and toilets need a complete renovation… it would easily be a 5-star hotel after some work. We will definitely return in the coming years.
