We had planned to arrive to coincide with the Kawazu cherry blossoms, but they bloomed about a week early this year, so their peak was over. On top of that, the weather was cloudy and rained the next day. We couldn't even see Mount Fuji, which was disappointing considering it's a quiet time of year. We decided we'd just have to enjoy Hotel Ginsui. We were excited to check in, as dinner was a buffet. This luxurious hotel was built during the booming economic times. The view from the lobby was spectacular, but it was a shame we couldn't see the sunset. Since it was a weekday, we were able to relax and unwind. We were looking forward to dinner, but the buffet was disappointing and disappointing. It didn't feel like the kind of food you'd expect from Ginsui. The sushi was okay, but the portions could have been a little larger. The freshly fried tempura was good, but the selection was limited. The boiled golden-eyed snapper was mediocre. There were no seasonal strawberries, no sweet cakes, and it felt not much different from a buffet at a chain hotel. Dinner, which is usually a highlight of a trip, was disappointing. It's far from what Ginsui calls a buffet, and I don't think I'd want to come back. I wish they would put more effort into the food. It's not worth the price, I hope they do a better job.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel New Ginsui. One of the highlights was the complimentary tea time with beer and snacks while overlooking the sea — the perfect way to relax and watch the sunset. The hotel offers beautiful ocean views and a calm, welcoming atmosphere throughout. The in-house onsen is spacious and very relaxing, perfect after a day of exploring the area. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets also had a very good spread, with plenty of options and fresh dishes to enjoy. Overall, a very comfortable stay with great hospitality, good food, and stunning coastal scenery.
