The hospitality of this hotel was over 5 stars. The food, the view, the amazing staff from the maid service to the bell hop to the restaurant staff was above and beyond our expectations. We came back for our 10 year anniversary and it was amazing. We will make it a point to come every year and not every 10. Christina, Eliana, Nicolai and Christus, deserves a well honored praise!! The often-mentioned friendliness is truly impressive, especially thanks to Eva at reception and Nicolas, who always provided our rental car (unfortunately, you have to notify reception at least 15 minutes in advance every time you want to leave because the parking lot is inaccessible). We (60 years old, always traveling in this category) were not impressed with the ambiance or the breakfast selection. The music is so loud that you can't have a conversation, and we had to bring this up repeatedly. We stayed at the hotel for breakfast for 11 days, and after 6 days, there was finally some fruit other than the usual three sliced varieties. The cheese selection remained the same the entire time: two Greek varieties and Gouda (and marinated feta cubes). The service was very friendly, but sometimes it took a long time to even order more water for tea. The terraces in front of the rooms might appear private in the photos. However, this is not the case, as all the terraces are completely open to view. A path ran across my terrace, which the housekeeping staff used. We had booked two adjoining rooms. Unfortunately, this request was not honored. I ended up with a room with a connecting door to other guests! Since the door wasn't soundproofed, I could hear everything from the next room. I can't say anything good about housekeeping: they came into the room without knocking or announcing themselves. Tea, shower cap, and soap were never replenished. Twice, toilet paper was missing because they had taken the rest of the roll. Towels that I wanted to keep (hanging on the hook) were always replaced with fresh ones. The wine glasses used on the first day were never replaced. The floors weren't clean, but the worst things were the dirty toilets and long hairs on the sheets. On the last day, I was allowed to move to a different room because a late check-out wasn't possible in my room. The toilet in this room was also very dirty, and there was no toilet paper or toothbrush. I wish there had been more oversight of housekeeping. Perhaps then it would have been noticed that the room was sometimes forgotten. We also found it unpleasant that the rooms were often still uncleaned at 4:00 PM. We addressed all of this on-site, but we doubt whether things can improve with the current staff.
