Review – Dorint City Hotel Bonn Our stay at the Dorint City Hotel Bonn was a mixed experience overall. First, the positives: The staff were consistently exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. You feel welcome and well cared for – this is truly remarkable. The rooms are also lovely, clean, and modernly furnished. The hotel's central location is a major plus – ideal for easily exploring Bonn. Unfortunately, there are some significant drawbacks, especially if you book the hotel as a "wellness hotel." There is no minibar in the rooms for your own or provided drinks. Furthermore, only instant coffee is available – for a hotel of this category, we would have expected at least a capsule machine or a higher-quality coffee option. The biggest drawback, however, concerns the wellness area: It can only be used for an additional fee (€5 per person, €2 per child). This would be acceptable in principle – however, the wellness area doesn't open until 3 p.m. on Sundays. Since check-out is at 12 noon, using the facilities on the day of departure is practically impossible. Even with a late check-out, it doesn't amount to a real spa day. We were only able to use the area on Saturday. For a weekend, this means an extra €10 for a relatively small swimming pool and limited access. For a hotel that advertises itself as a spa, we therefore feel the price-performance ratio is inadequate. Anyone planning a genuine spa weekend should, in our opinion, look for alternatives. The friendliness of the staff and the location are excellent – however, we wouldn't recommend it as a spa hotel.
