The four of us spontaneously booked a night at the Dormero in Prora. What can we say... We've rarely experienced such warmth and perfectionism at a chain hotel. It started right from check-in. We were originally supposed to wait until 4 pm. Thanks to the manager's kindness, we were able to check into our booked suite at noon. Due to the hotel's high occupancy, we were then informed that we had been upgraded to a penthouse suite 🤷‍♀️ and all free of charge!! If we had to give grades for all aspects (cleanliness, friendliness, comfort, breakfast, etc.), we would give them all top marks. We'll definitely be back at the beginning of May! The view (seaside) is fantastic, which is generally due to the location's proximity to the beach. Restaurants and cafes are also in the immediate vicinity. The lobby is attractively furnished and, in our opinion, makes a welcoming impression. The apartments might be considered basic for some, but they were perfectly adequate for us. Overall, this was our second stay, and we found our first stay significantly more relaxing. The staff are generally nice, friendly, and helpful. One of the great extras is the late check-out on Sundays at 2 p.m., which makes a stay much more appealing and less stressful. After all, you can sleep in and start your departure day relaxed. In theory, definitely, but in reality, things looked quite different. Unfortunately, the cleaning team seemed to be in a particular hurry to get rid of us. How else can you interpret it when, starting around 9:30 a.m., there was knocking, ringing, and the door being opened all at once every hour? We've never experienced anything like it. And because the reception was unattended when we left, we were ultimately unable to resolve this annoying issue. We were also surprised to learn that the spa area costs extra per person per day; there was absolutely no mention of this on Booking.com. As a result, our initial enthusiasm has evaporated, and we won't be returning (at least not anytime soon). A real shame!
