Dormy Inn PREMIUM Sapporo Hot Spring

The room was small, and the beds were even smaller. We booked a 4-person room but were given 3 single beds – how were we supposed to sleep?! The heating system was old, and the fan blades made a lot of noise at night. The onsen room was small and old. The location in Tanukikoji is convenient for shopping. I stayed in Aomori in October and was very satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this one.

A Man Crazy About Domiin This is a review by Domisae. I've been to Domiin 50 times. I'll write a review focusing on the points I consider most important. 1. Hot Springs 1) The Openness of the Hot Springs : It's disappointing. Unfortunately, it's a completely enclosed salt spring with no open sky. 2) Water Temperature : The review said the water was too hot, but perhaps because I went in the cold winter, the water was just right. My cells told me it was around 40 degrees Celsius. 3) Healing Music : The music is good and at a reasonable volume. However, it's not my favorite Domiin healing music, but a different kind of healing music. This wasn't bad at all. I think it would have been better if it had Domain music. 4) Overall Review : Contrary to the disappointing reviews above, I'd say it's pretty good overall. The outdoor bath is actually pretty useless because it only allows air to pass through, and there are only two bucket-sized tubs in the outdoor bath, so the indoor bath is the main attraction. The indoor bath, however, isn't bad. It feels like a quiet, old-fashioned Japanese hot spring, and this feeling is incredibly relaxing. One of the two indoor baths has a carbonated water bath, and it made my skin feel smooth. It didn't feel like an outdoor bath, but it wasn't bad. 2. Breakfast : Domain's breakfast is famous. The only downside is the long line. I arrived around 8:30 and waited about 30 minutes before I could get in. Once inside, I enjoyed my meal in comfort. The fact that they serve their kaisendon (seafood rice bowls) fresh is a huge plus. You can also try local Sapporo dishes like soup curry. 3. Massage : I don't usually get massages at Dormy Inn, but I did this day because the price was so reasonable. 2,400 yen for 20 minutes, about 20,000 won. Even in Korea, they charge around 60,000 won per hour. But 20,000 won for 20 minutes seemed like a reasonable price for a school. Moreover, the massage skills were excellent, even for a Japanese massage. I've always been a bit disappointed with the teasing, playful nature of massages in Japan, but the masseuse I had that day was a woman who applied just the right amount of pressure, which really helped me relax from my travel fatigue. 4. Ramen : I've been to Dormy Inn so many times that I don't usually eat late-night ramen, but I did have one that day. They even served an egg as a topping. I think it was my first time getting Dormy Inn ramen with a soft-boiled egg. It's nothing fancy, but it makes a difference. Hahaha 5. Rooms The rooms are a bit small. And the hotel itself is a bit older than other Domain hotels. But it's still perfectly fine for a comfortable stay. 6. Lounge : The lounge here is amazing. They offer ice cream and probiotic drinks after the hot springs, which is typical of Domain hotels. They also have massage chairs, and they're truly amazing. If the massages were over, I think I'd just keep using the massage chairs. Of course, it's rude to keep using them, so it's best to do them every once in a while when they're empty.

Overall, the experience was good. The hotel is located in a strategic shopping area. The hotel room is not very spacious. The breakfast was good, and the dessert pudding was especially nice.
