Doubletree By Hilton Hotel Rochester

I came here as a kid and loved it. Now with a family to give them the same amazing experience. Unfortunately this stay has not been amazing. The room is okay it's pretty standard. The bed is a little firm, and i'm a smaller guy, and I do like beds, but even for me, it's pretty firm. The pillows are absolutely awful.Sleep was horrible. The quality of the pillows were really bad. They look big and fluffy. But as soon as you lay down, they can dense as hard as a rock. The elevators and hallways were filthy with construction matter.Everywhere and fingerprints and handprints of white chalky hands touching everything. There was loud construction even early in the morning. And for the breakfast that we paid for we were given quite a hassle about any request for things to be altered Were denied. They did not have the continental buffet breakfast As advertised. And the waiter person took forty five minutes to actually take our order. He insisted we needed some type of voucher to show that we had paid.And we had to go to the front desk twice only for them, to tell us that we don't need a voucher. Just to give them our room number. But we must have looked like liars to him because he had to go run up himself and ask her. He was honestly kind of rude and there was hair on our food. The pool was nice at a good temperature and well lit, but there was a bunch of toilet paper floating around inside of it. It was kind of gross. In the morning, when waiting for the elevator each elevator was full of workers and construction equipment, and we ultimately had to take the stairs down to the second floor because they did not go to the first floor. When waiting for the elevator a worker tried to get us to take the stairs again. So that he could take the elevator without us in it, which was kind of rude. There was lots of broken stuff everywhere, and the ceiling tiles at the very top of the hotel are falling, and some of them are wet and dropping little particles down to the pool area. I'm overall quite disappointed.A quality inn can do a lot better than how doubletree has performed during this stay. We travel a lot and have been to a bunch of different hotels and motels And this has probably been one of the worst experiences. I'm really disappointed as I remember this place quite fondly, but it is definitely fallen into disarray.Poor management, poor staffing and bad practices. The standard seems to be quite low. In the workout room, the water machine was leaking water all over the floor. I'm honestly disappointed and for the amount of money that we paid a hundred and fifty dollars a night It was truly unacceptable for seventy five dollars a night.We could have gotten a lot better service and quality.

It’s really unacceptable that the construction work for the hotel renovations begins before the 11:00 am check out time. The banging on my ceiling began this morning at 9:25 am and continues.

Terrible service at check in, the hotel is under construction and the “manager” at check in was terrible and the GM didn’t give a crap either. I only stayed here because we had to but I would avoid.
