We called to make a reservation for the company Annual Dinner. We called and they said a salesperson would contact us. But no one was there to contact us. When we called again for a follow-up, we were passed on to the kitchen admin, and then they asked us to call them back because they had passed on to the wrong person. When we called them back, they answered, but when they said the person there didn't understand, they hung up. Are you serious? Do you really not want customers?????

The hotel has a long history and is a beautiful building, but the service is below one-star level. It seems to be relying entirely on its past reputation and architectural grandeur, with no sign of improvement whatsoever. Many of the staff were unprofessional, chatting among themselves casually, while others wandered around looking bored and unmotivated. I stayed in the Heritage Wing, but it did not feel worth the price at all. There are many far better hotels in Penang, and there is absolutely no need to stay here. If you only want to appreciate the architecture, having tea in the tea room is more than sufficient. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

Everything would have been perfect if we could sleep at night. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, because there was hellish noise until 4 am on both nights. The first night there was a wedding in the hotel plus a lot of entertainment venues next door. The second night was the same without the wedding, but the garbage collectors seemed to have bombed several containers of garbage into the garbage trucks. Our room was on the 11th floor in the Victory section and unfortunately, due to the single glazing, the street noise could be heard. I recommend someone from the hotel management to spend a night in such a room. I would be curious about your opinion.
