Eco Beach is one of the most stunning locations you will find. We have stayed here before and were super excited to visit again. We were a little disappointed as the facilities are noticeably tired now. The resort is remote and in a harsh hot environment with bore water, so it is not going to stay shiny and new for long. However a little bit of maintenance would definitely go a long way for lasting impressions as a high calibre eco resort (villa numbers all faded and peeling, pool area peeling, boardwalk lighting intermittent) Our Villa seemed to be the only one split in two halves with bed/bath separated from the living by a breezeway. It had a great view - we could see glimpses of ocean although we had booked a garden view. Slightly disappointed to see the paint peeling off our room ceiling, a strange retrofitted shower screen and spider webs all over the bedroom corners. Aside from that it was clean. From our last visit we knew there were no cooking facilities in the villa which was fine, we utilised the camp kitchen 3 out of 4 nights. The BBQs were clean and easy to use but did take a long time to get hot enough. The addition that would make it even better would be a hot plate and a pot or two to be able to cook pasta/veggies etc., the only option currently is BBQ or microwave (in your villa). The main drawcard for us both trips was the wildlife and it exceeded expectations once again. Large variety of birds, sea turtles, stingrays, manta rays, dolphins, octopus and sharks can all be seen very easily. The walk down to the cave is also a must do ( keep an eye on the tide!). We did unfortunately encounter three seemingly feral cats during our stay - one that was so skinny it was bold enough to enter our Villa whilst we were sitting on the couch. It would be great to see these eradicated for the sake of the local wildlife. The restaurant was fantastic as were the staff, we could not fault them for their professionalism and friendliness. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed our meal and it was not expensive either. All in all a spectacular location that just needs a little TLC.
