Well, the staff wasn’t particularly warm or personable, with the exception of 1-2 employees- one who seemed genuinely alarmed about the bedbug infestation situation. They also have a signage that they require documentation for service dogs taped at the front desk. In the United States, businesses and other public places generally cannot legally require documentation (“papers”) to prove a dog is a service animal under federal law — with some very limited exceptions in specific contexts (like airlines). 🐾 What the Law Says (Public Places & Businesses) Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), when it’s not obvious that a dog is a service animal, a business may only ask two specific questions: 1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? That’s it — that’s the only information a business can legally request. 🚫 What Businesses Cannot Require Under the ADA, businesses and public entities cannot require a handler to provide any of the following before allowing a service dog (or person with a disability) entry: 1. Documentation or “papers” proving the dog’s status (certification, ID cards, training records, etc.) 2. Proof of the handler’s disability 3. A demonstration of the dog’s task 4. That the dog wear a special vest or ID tag So in most public settings (restaurants, stores, theaters, etc.), asking for service dog paperwork is not legally permitted and could be considered discriminatory. 📄 Why There’s No Required Paperwork The ADA doesn’t establish any federal registry or certification for service dogs, and no official “service dog license” exists. That means even if someone has a certificate from a private trainer or online service, it’s not legally required or meaningful under federal law. AND then i let them know the fire alarm keeps chirping in the hallway. I said he would let maintenance know 4-5 days ago. The location is convenient—Bob Evans, Denny’s, and a gas station are next door. However, there is no continental breakfast included, and there’s nowhere in the lobby to sit and work or watch TV while having a cup of coffee. All the tables were stacked. Coffee was available but very strong. There is not coffee makers in the rooms either to make your own. I’d rate cleanliness around a 3. They do offer room cleanings upon request which I prefer better, at least on Wednesdays or 3rd night. The room itself has typical mold, stains on the walls, and general wear and tear consistent with a motel rated around 2.8. There is no vending machine for snacks—only overpriced snacks at the check-in/out counter. The soda machine being placed in the lobby instead of the ice machine room is also an odd setup. As I always do, I inspected the bed when I arrived. However, on my fourth night, around 2:00 a.m., while working and studying for classes but winding down, a very large bedbug landed on my leg. I was able to catch it, smashed it between two key cards, and immediately took it to the front desk. Unfornately, staff stated they could not move me to another room until the following morning or make any refund and adjustments, despite claiming they had recently completed inspections. They took photos of the bug to send to the manager. I re-inspected the room but strongly suspect the bugs may be in the carpet or other areas. I am hoping this was a one time fluke. I know bedbugs though. If there was one theres more. I packed my belongings immediately. I am now itching, extremely anxious, and afraid to sleep. Watching for bites. Given that I am already facing housing instability, this situation has been especially distressing. I have just been recovering from Anxiety/PTSD/Seizure relapse. I did not need to lose more sleep. I dont have a car and can't drive due to my medical/disability issues. Otherwise I would sleep in my car. I will demanding a full refund or at least the remaning visits. I am currently stuck here until Saturday - but will be leaving on Friday. Please do the right thing in the morning.

Treated respectful and staff was always helpful.

Hotel was clean, beds and pillows were comfy. Hotel staff was very friendly. We have stayed here before a few times and will definitely stay again.
