Econo Lodge Metro

We had a really good stay at the Econo Lodge Metro. It’s a simple hotel but clean, comfortable and great value for money. The free parking was a big plus, and having the Metro right nearby made getting into the city really easy and convenient. A special mention to the staff as well. Shabnam was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Paresh was also extremely helpful and friendly, always happy to assist and answer any questions. Overall, a really pleasant stay with great service. I’d happily stay here again.

Of all the 50-70 hotels I’ve booked in dozens of countries worldwide, this was by far the worst. The location is extremely inconvenient. The hotel entrance and exit are directly at a busy intersection with constant traffic. There are no decent shops, gas stations, or restaurants nearby—everything is far away. Driving doesn’t help because there is no parking, so you either walk long distances or don’t go anywhere at all. There was a strong smell of marijuana throughout our floor, which was especially disturbing since I was traveling with my wife and our 4-year-old child. As soon as we entered the room, we were hit with an equally disgusting smell—something like chemicals, sewage, or a ventilation issue. We kept the windows open all day, but the room never aired out. Everything inside the room was in poor condition. The TV, despite being mounted on the wall, didn’t work. The Wi-Fi didn’t work on any of our devices and constantly showed errors. The refrigerator, microwave, and all the lamps were unplugged. At first, we thought nothing worked, but I eventually managed to connect everything—only after struggling to move heavy furniture that completely blocked all the outlets. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning. The worst part was at night. For two nights in a row, we were unable to sleep due to constant loud voices, singing, music, banging, and other noises coming from two nearby rooms—one across the hall and one next door. The first night, we only fell asleep in the early morning out of sheer exhaustion after a 10-hour drive from Ohio. The second night was exactly the same. I contacted reception, but nothing changed. The people causing the noise appeared to be a gang, smoking marijuana everywhere and behaving like wild animals. We had booked the hotel for three nights, but at 4:30 a.m. during the second night, we packed our bags and left. I have never abandoned a hotel stay mid-booking before, but this situation left us no choice. Everything about this hotel was terrible, except for one person at the reception desk. If you want to rest after a long journey or have a peaceful night’s sleep—especially with your family—do not choose this hotel. Run away from it like the plague. The reviews and rating are incredibly inflated. I do not recommend this hotel.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel some time ago, and to be honest, the hotel is clean and quiet; I really liked it in that respect. However, the person who attended to me at reception was very rude from the moment we arrived. I got her business card, and she's supposedly the manager. She was truly unpleasant, shouting when she spoke to me and providing terrible service. I even overheard comments about racism. How is that possible? It was truly awful, not to mention the breakfast, which left much to be desired.
