We booked this hotel for a 3-week extended stay due to a home insurance claim, but we checked out in less than 24 hours because the experience was so bad. On paper this hotel checked many boxes for our family (kitchen, breakfast, and a great location near my work), but the reality was very different. The front desk welcome was cold and unfriendly, which already set the tone. The lobby looks nice and modern, but the moment you reach the elevators and hallways it feels like a completely different hotel — older, worn down, and poorly maintained. Another surprising detail: the hotel charges $10 per night for parking, even though there are plenty of open parking spaces and large parking areas all around the property. The room itself was extremely small for the size of my family. It also wasn’t clean. The bathroom had visible issues and one of the pillows smelled so bad I had to remove it from the bed completely. The worst part happened around 3 AM when the fire alarm went off and everyone had to evacuate. My instinct was simply to grab my kids and get them out safely, so I didn’t think about grabbing my car keys or any belongings. We stood outside in freezing temperatures for over an hour, with my kids in pajamas and one of them already sick. Since my car keys were left in the room, we couldn’t even sit in the car with heat. Eventually I had to go back inside to get the keys so I could warm up my children. Because our house happened to be nearby (17 minutes away), we ended up driving back home to sleep there. If we had been travelers from another city or state, we would have been completely stranded in the middle of the night. When I returned the next morning to grab our belongings and get breakfast for the kids, the breakfast area was flooded, with buckets, fans, and water everywhere (see photos). After less than 24 hours, we checked out instead of staying the planned three weeks. This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
