Our stay at Elements Resort Zell am See was deeply disappointing and frightening, especially for a family with children. On arrival, the central heating in our room was not working, despite freezing winter temperatures. Instead of fixing the issue or offering an alternative room, the hotel provided portable heaters. The very next morning at around 7:00 AM, one of these heaters started emitting smoke, filling the entire room and triggering the fire alarm. The room was occupied by my family and young children, who were exposed to smoke and panic. Staff later confirmed that the smoke originated from the heater supplied by the hotel. To make the room breathable, we were forced to open all doors and windows in sub-zero temperatures, which was extremely distressing for the children. Even after returning home, they continue to talk about the incident and have nightmares about what could have happened. In addition to this serious safety incident, basic housekeeping was neglected throughout our stay: Dustbins were not emptied Sinks were not cleaned The bedroom was not serviced even once over four nights Despite repeated emails and attempts to resolve the matter directly with management, the hotel has refused to take responsibility or offer a full refund, instead delaying the issue under “internal review.” This was supposed to be a family holiday, but it turned into a traumatic experience. Charging premium peak-season prices while compromising on safety, hygiene, and accountability is unacceptable. I strongly advise families, especially those traveling with children, to think carefully before booking this property.

The reception staff were very polite and explained everything clearly. Our room was ready earlier than expected, which was much appreciated. The hotel facilities are excellent. We booked a room with a sauna, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the housekeeping staff were courteous and professional. The heated swimming pool was very relaxing, and there is a dedicated room for ski equipment, which is very convenient. The restaurant staff were also friendly and attentive. We spent a wonderful week here during our Christmas ski holiday with our little one and truly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.
