Elite Byblos Hotel

The hotel is a 5-star hotel on paper, but personally deserves a 3-star rating. Good and spacious rooms, just a bit of an unpleasant smell. The location is close to the Emirates Mall, which is good.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the hotel for the following reasons (I will be factual to avoid any misinterpretation): - Upon our (late) arrival, the receptionist tried to charge us the remaining balance of the reservation (why not, after all?), but her calculation was completely wrong, and we asked to wait until the next morning to settle it. - Similarly, the extra bed for our son wasn't set up in our room when we arrived; we had to wait until it was before going to bed around 2:00 AM. - With a few rare exceptions, the staff were not at all welcoming (most had only a superficial smile or no smile at all), with no customer service skills. It's something that can be learned: how to say "no" to a customer. For example, on New Year's Eve, we insisted on having a table by a window, even though the restaurant was far from full when we arrived. Another example: we tried to find out if it would be possible to keep our rooms a little later because we We had our return flight in the evening => instead of politely explaining that it wasn't possible because the room had been assigned to other guests (even though this wasn't true), our only response was, "You will be charged if you don't check out before noon." - The housekeeping in the rooms and throughout the hotel left much to be desired (no vacuuming in the rooms or cleaning of the bathroom floors for a week). - The facilities were outdated. - The quality of the buffets was mediocre (breakfast: "hard" pastries, not much originality from one day to the next, etc., and New Year's Eve dinner: no festive dish worthy of the name, "amateurish" entertainment). => In short, a hotel to avoid that absolutely does not deserve its 5 stars. Two positive points, however: - The hotel kindly agreed to our request for three adjoining rooms. - The room size was satisfactory.

Good experience hotel is clean and the room attendant Rizwan is very attentive and hardworking.
