The hotel was okay. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a definite plus. It was good, fresh, and the dishes that were most often missing were constantly being delivered. But... During the reservation, I agreed to pay in cash, which I was prepared for (I was assured by email that this method was perfectly acceptable), but at check-in, the receptionist categorically refused to accept cash.... Credit card only... and if I didn't have the funds in my account... cash only, what would I do...?! I finally paid by card, but in my opinion, this is fraud and unprofessional customer service. Promises made during the reservation... and then a completely different decision at check-in - poor...

I had booked a weekend at Elite Hotel Mimer for me and my partner. The reason I chose this particular hotel was that I stayed there with my class in March and then got a very good impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, this time the stay did not live up to my expectations at all. I have stayed at Elite hotels many times before and since it is a chain I expect a similar standard regardless of the city. This time I was disappointed already when we got to the room. There were greasy fingerprints on the mirrors, which gave an unkempt impression. The TV also did not work well. I am not sure if there were only two channels. Usually it is possible to chromecast, but here it did not seem to work at all. The breakfast was quite okay, but no more than that. The cheese had clearly been sitting there for a long time, which was clearly visible on the dry edges. I also think that Elite Hotel Mimer should work more on sustainability. For example, orange juice was served even though it is not locally grown at all. Oranges don't grow in Sweden😉 Another minus was how the breakfast staff handled the dishes. They drove out a cart for dirty dishes while the restaurant was full of breakfast guests and scraped the plates openly in front of other guests, which felt very distasteful and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this stay did not live up to the expectations I have of Elite as a hotel chain, especially considering my previous positive experience with Hotel Mimer. The woman who worked at the reception was a star, such a kind and pleasant young lady!
